Therapeutic Care Team Leader

The **HYPA (Helping Young People Achieve) Homes** program is a therapeutic residential care program for young people aged 0 to 18 who have experienced significant trauma, abuse, and neglect. This is a **full-time** position primarily based in **Kent Town** and is responsible for overseeing and delivering a positive and thriving therapeutic care environment within **two HYPA Homes in Gilles Plains and Pasadena**.
This role will provide effective leadership and supervise Therapeutic Youth Workers to support young people residing in the homes to effectively settle into a therapeutic care environment where they can experience and access a high standard of care within a home like environment, develop and foster appropriate life skills and social abilities to support their personal development and increase their connection with the community. Key responsibilities for this role include but not limited to:
- Provide daily supervisory support to a team of Therapeutic Care Workers (TCWs)
- Conduct regular operational supervision meetings with the Therapeutic Care Workers (TCWs) in the assigned homes
- Ensure TCW’s comply with the requirements of daily basic needs for the young people within the home
- Ensure TCWs are working to develop and facilitate activities that promote independent living skills
- Coordinate induction and training activities, support and mentor for new and existing employees
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all administration tasks, including handling petty cash, organizing rosters, submitting leave, writing case notes and reports.
**About You**
As a natural leader you will lead a team and work in a collaborative team environment. You will have exceptional time management skills and organisations skills, able to plan and coordinate resources to meet program delivery and client needs to achieve set target within deadlines.
- Experience working with young people with complex trauma is essential
- Strong engagement skills and the ability to interact effectively and sensitively with young people, families, peers, and other service providers to achieve positive outcomes with clients.
- Previous experience in a supervisor or program/project coordinator role is highly desirable.
- Experience facilitating and contributing to the development of, group programs and development activities for young people is desirable.
- Communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to produce documentation of a high quality, including timely and accurate case notes and reports.
- Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call roster is essential.
**For this role, you will need to**:
- University Degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Social Work, Social Science, Psychology Occupational Therapy, or other allied health services) or currently working towards one is essential
- Hold and maintain an approved First Aid Certificate
- Hold and maintain Safe Environments for Children and young People Certificate
- Prepared to undergo Psychological Assessment
- Be willing to complete a Working with Children Check, National Police Check
- Have a current and valid driver's licence and your own registered vehicle with a 4 or 5 star ANCAP safety rating (to check your vehicle please click here)
