irresistible tea drinks and freshly baked bread, cakes and desserts that will brighten

up their day. Bengong’s Tea & Bakery’s shelves are adorned with a wide range of

mouth-watering options, from artisanal bread, soft and fragrant, to a tempting array

of cakes and desserts that are not only visually appealing but also a true delight.

Due to continued business expansion, we are seeking a skilled and qualified Baker,

who is not only passionate about the art of baking but also possesses the expertise

and dedication to maintain our high standards of quality.

The roles for the Baker position include but are not limited to:

- Oversee the daily operations of the bakery, including opening the bakery early in the morning, ingredient inventory management, equipment maintenance, and cleanliness
- Weighing flour and other ingredients to prepare the dough
- Prepare a wide variety of bread, cakes, and desserts, adhering to established recipes and techniques while ensuring consistent quality
- Decorating cakes with glazes, icings, buttercream and edible toppings, like flowers
- Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
- Prepare custom-made pastries based on customers’ preferences (e.g. birthday cakes, wedding cakes etc)
- Contribute to the creation and refinement of new recipes and products, staying updated with industry trends and customer preferences
- Maintain a high standard of excellence in the appearance, taste, and texture of all baked goods. Ensure that all raw and finished goods adhere to quality and food safety standards
- Greeting customers, answering questions, marking recommendations, accepting orders and payments, and providing exceptional customer service

Qualifications and skills required for the role:

- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a Baker
- Be able to decorate cakes using creative techniques
- Familiar with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Have a high attention to detail
- Passion for baking
- The successful applicant would ideally be available 5 days per week, and be flexible to work around customer demands, including early morning, night, weekend and holiday availability.

**Salary**: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
