**Full training will be provided for you to perform the following in your role.**
**Responsibilities for this role include**:
- Removal of deceased remains and mortuary work
- Driving of removal vehicles, hearses and other vehicles as required
- General maintenance of the facility including monitoring of stock levels
- Embalming and mortuary responsibilities in line with the requirements
- Assist on Funerals where needed
- Ensure acceptable Occupational Health and Safety standards are maintained at the Funeral Home
- Other duties as required consistent with the position
- Follow InvoCare policies and procedures and location systems and practices
- Follow the InvoCare Occupational Health, Safety and Injury Management System
- Maintain records and information systems needed to monitor and control location activity
**Skills and experience required for this role include**:
- Ability to care for, help and empathize with bereaved families
- Driving skills with sound road knowledge and ability to navigate the local area
- Mortuary skills via in house training
- Sensitivity to and the ability to comply with religious and secular requirements of the funeral
- Manual handling and lifting skills
- Ability to work as part of a team and without direct supervision
- File burial permits and complete all necessary paperwork related to the death process
- Properly and safely utilize embalming instruments and machinery in accordance with company guidelines
- Prepare and embalm the deceased for interment or cremation in accordance with legal requirements and with utmost respect for the deceased
- In a fit state of physical and psychological health to be able to adequately perform manual handling, manage stress and carry out other inherent requirements of the position without putting at risk personal health, safety and welfare, or that of work colleagues or clients. This is imperative due to the nature of the funeral industry and the presence of grieving clients
