A unique opportunity has arisen for a Residential Children’s Supervisor to join this well-established (since 1931) NFP organisation, with a focus on Families & Communities, working with primary aged children.

**Residential Children’s Supervisor - Curl Curl location (Northern Beaches)**

Not everyday an opportunity arises to work at a beautiful location like this - right next to Curl Curl beach on Sydney’s Northern Beaches

Unique position that cares for up to 84 children in a fortnightly cycle (children change each fortnight), coming from all over NSW/ACT, to a 2 week experience at this NFP organisation. Approximately 1,600 children attend the program every year.

Children attend school on site during the day, and this position is for a Residential Children’s Supervisor to help care for these children before and after school.

During the children’s stay, they receive a balance of health and educational programs and out of school activities to boost their self-esteem and promote a healthier lifestyle (strong focus on the social and emotional development of the child).

This position is outside the NQF. There are no NQF / NQS requirements.

- Extensive training for the position and ongoing professional development to ensure currency of knowledge and trauma informed care / practices.

**What would the role involve?**

This is a unique role, with unique shift requirements. Please do not hesitate to ask to clarify any of the below:

- 72 hours worked over a fortnight (12 days).
- Shifts will be either at the beginning, such as 2 then a day off then back for another 2, or end of the fortnight cycle, not scattered throughout - giving you additional ample days off which you will know in advance.
- Afternoon shift approx start 3pm, caring and interacting with the children until approx. 9pm.
- Morning shift approx. start 7am, caring and interacting with the children until approx. 9am.
- Have the day off between 9am - 3pm (approx.), nothing required on weekdays during this time.
- 6 overnight stays out of the 12 day / 11 night program. Generally nothing is required between 9pm - 7am (approx.) except to be on site. The stays are not in a row - they are broken up over the two week cycle.
- Every second weekend off / program is closed.
- One weekend a fortnight rostered on to help facilitate the program with the children in care (this may be day or night shifts).
- School holidays off and paid for.
- Private in-dormitory overnight accommodation is provided whilst on duty.

**Who are we looking for?**
- Experience working with children and / or adolescents. Ability to make connections, empathise, listen and document as required.
- A passion for supporting children.
- An understanding of trauma informed practice (professional development will be provided).
- Ability to work collaboratively with other Supervisors and health / education professionals.
- Relevant qualification, territory level is highly desirable however will also take into consideration Diploma and Certificate IV qualifications.
- HLTAID012: Provide an emergency first aid response in an education and care setting (or willingness to obtain).
- LR class NSW drivers licence (for a small 25 seater bus) or willingness to obtain over time.
