**The Opportunity**:
Due to a significant expansion at Australia’s largest pharmaceutical manufacturing site, a newly created position is available for a Lead Mechanical Technician - Bulk within the Maintenance Services Mechanical Team. The Department provides essential engineering and maintenance support services on the CSL Behring Broadmeadows site. This includes providing support to manufacturing facilities for fractionation of human plasma into pharmaceutical products.

In addition to contributing to Australia’s export economy, CSL has invested in substantial new manufacturing facilities at Broadmeadows to provide Australia with further high skills science and manufacturing employment opportunities and strengthen capabilities to develop and commercialise future new medicines onshore in Australia.

**The Role**:
Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer - Bulk you will have experience leading a trades team and conducting preventative maintenance tasks, inspections, corrective and breakdown maintenance on process, plant, and equipment. This includes:

- Leadership of an experienced and motivated team of qualified technicians. Provide job training, coaching, assessment, and guidance to technicians.
- Daily planning and scheduling of work during routine operation and shutdowns.
- Daily maintenance work co-ordination. Including controlling the work of the trades group and contractors as a Permit controller.
- Assist with achievement of business and department KPI’s.
- Working on vessel agitators, heat exchangers and a wide range of valves.
- Working on one or more of the following pumps: Rotary lobe, centrifugal, liquid ring, and diaphragm pumps.
- Working on steam and condensate systems, including demonstrated experience working on pressure reducing valves and steam traps.
- Flexibility in working hours to meet operational needs, including availability outside the normal shift roster. Facility shutdown period availability is required to support major maintenance activities.

**Your skills and experience**:

- Leadership experience in a maintenance environment.
- Indentured qualification as a Mechanical Technician/ Fitter & Turner or similar trade qualification.
- Honest, well-mannered, highly motivated and enjoy utilising your initiative to solve mechanical related problems in the process and plant environment.
- Strong commitment to Occupational Health, Safety and Environment.
