Court Services Victoria provides corporate services and facilities to support the performance of the judicial, quasi-judicial and administrative functions of Victoria's courts and tribunal, Judicial College and Judicial Commission. Collectively, Victoria's Supreme, County, Magistrates', Children's, and Coroners courts, the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), the Judicial College of Victoria, the Judicial Commission of Victoria, and Court Services Victoria (CSV) are referred to as the 'Courts Group'.

The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is the first level of the Victorian court system and is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria. It has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state. The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 locations, equating to approximately 90 percent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible, and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.

Court Services Victoria is seeking a culturally competent and community-focused Koori Support Practitioner to join the Navigation and Triage Program at the Magistrates' Court of Victoria. This role is part of CSV's commitment to reducing the over-representation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples in the criminal justice system.

As a Koori Support Practitioner, you will provide frontline support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander court users, offering culturally safe, non-legal advice and referrals. You will also support the broader Court Services team to deliver culturally competent services across specialist programs.
This role sits within the Navigation and Triage Program, which provides high-level advice to judiciary, court staff, lawyers, and stakeholders to help meet the support needs of court users through community services or specialist courts.

You will work collaboratively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, organisations, and stakeholders to build referral pathways and promote best practice service delivery.

**About You**
- ; A strong understanding of Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, cultures, and the issues impacting them.
- ; Proven ability to work and communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participants and stakeholders.
- ; Experience in client engagement, risk assessment, crisis management, safety planning, and case management using evidence-based approaches.
- ; Ideally have qualifications or relevant experience in one or more of the following areas (Social work, community welfare, alcohol and other drugs (AOD), psychology, social sciences, Aboriginal specialist services, specialist courts, or similar fields). While formal qualifications are highly desirable, they are not essential.
