Excellent 3-month opportunity for an experienced Operations Lead with Waste Experience

**Your new company**

Our Client is a leading eastern Suburb Council. The new Operations Lead-Waste & Recycling will lead a small team that is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Council’s kerbside collection program and delivers projects that support improved waste and recycling outcomes. The team receives and processes community enquiries and liaises with waste and recycling contractors to ensure smooth operation of the Recycling 2.0 four bin system.

**Your new role**
- Provide support, oversight and supervision to team members that are responsible for the day to day operations of Council’s kerbside collection program.
- Support the delivery of projects that improve or complement Council’s four stream bin system, including but not limited to drop off events, bulk bin changeovers, app review and non-residential property engagement.
- Support ongoing business process improvement that increases efficiency, improves communication with contractors and supports customer satisfaction.
- Deliver change management and embed collaborative work practices and support a positive team dynamic through regular meetings proactive staff supervision.
- Ensure a high-quality customer service response is provided to the community including professional and timely responses to requests, complaints or concerns.
- Maintain effective internal relationships with Customer Service, Rates and other stakeholder teams.
- Provide advice and support to the Team Leader Waste and Recycling and/or Coordinator Environment and Sustainability.

**What you'll need to succeed**

**Qualifications**
- A tertiary qualification in a related field such as; waste and environment, business administration, leadership, frontline customer service. Or extensive relevant experience.

**Specialist skills and knowledge**
- Strong leadership and team management skills with ability to lead and motivate a team of professional staff to deliver agreed work programs and projects.
- Stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiating and conflict resolution.
- High level written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of waste and recycling services and industry desirable

**Experience**
- Extensive experience supervising staff and facilitating positive team culture
- Experience in customer service and/ or customer relationship management.
- Experience in delivering a change management program that resulted in improved service delivery.
