Role

Waste and Sweeper Operator in Parkville, VIC. The role is full-time, with overtime opportunities and occasional weekend work as required. You will operate street sweepers and waste collection vehicles to maintain cleanliness and safety of hard surface areas across the City of Melbourne's parks.

Responsibilities
  • Perform scheduled street sweeping across designated park areas
  • Remove rubbish prior to sweeping and ensure areas are kept clean
  • Operate plant, vehicles and equipment safely and report any defects
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed, vehicle use, and equipment
  • Assist with graffiti removal, pressure washing and general cleaning
  • Drive and operate a waste compactor to assist with collections
  • Support other team members as required across waste and cleaning services
To be Successful in this Role You'll Have
  • A valid Medium Rigid (MR) Driver's Licence
  • A current Working with Children Check
  • Understanding of machinery used in street cleaning and maintenance
  • Ability to get in and out of vehicles and perform manual tasks throughout the shift
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills and teamwork
  • Experience with graffiti removal, pressure washing or waste services (desirable)
