**The role**
Mineral Resources has a created a new role within the Group Safety team, we’re currently seeking a Principal Advisor in Emergency Management. The role will be reporting directly through to the General Manager for Health and Safety aiding the MinRes Executive, SSE’s and Operational Leaders in the implementation and improvement of the MinRes’ Emergency Response Plans, Framework, and response capability across our Owner / Operator mining operations.
The purpose is to develop, execute, and maintain consistent standards of business continuity across MinRes’ owner / operator mining operations in Iron Ore and Lithium including the below:
- A shared vision and commitment to an industry-leading Emergency Services culture across all owner / operator sites, developing and executing strategies to move towards a business resilience culture;
- Support emergency response teams across the business, improving performance through standardised skills training and gap identification, developing equipment standardisation and build specifications, and standardising processes; and
- Close and supportive relationships with SSE’s, site Managers and leaders, and peers ensuring best practice emergency services is championed and prioritised.
**Key Responsibilities**-
- Develop and maintain the Emergency Management improvement strategy in consultation with owner / operator site personnel.
- Provide expert advice to key business stakeholders relating to Emergency Management and Business Resilience.
- Provide specialist advice into the ongoing development of Business Resilience Framework, Emergency Management procedures and processes, and Medical Services in consultation with the internal MinRes resource.
- Ensuring current best practice, benchmarked and aligned with changes to Emergency Management as required across all operations.
- Support business stakeholders in the ongoing assessment and improvement of emergency & business continuity plans.
- Focused on risks, strategy, improvement and advancements, engagement and stakeholder management and leadership.
- Review, develop, implement, and monitor an effective Group Emergency Management Strategic Plan that is aligned to the MinRes Health & Safety Strategic Plan and directly addresses the challenges and context of the business and the emergency management function.
- Oversee and manage a programme of scheduled audits, across operational and corporate sites reviewing against the requirements of legislation, company procedures, and emergency management plans.
**What you’ll bring to the team**
- Minimum 10 years’ experience working in Emergency Management across the Mining and/ or Resources sector.
- Minimum 3 years’ working as a supervisor or above within Emergency Management.
- Previous experience working within a Group Safety team (desirable).
- A working knowledge of the Western Australian regulatory requirements and administrative frameworks.
- Experience in developing, implementing, and managing an Emergency Services Framework.
- Strategic leadership experience and competence with a proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Sound people skills with the ability to establish and build on working relationships effectively.
- Highly effective communication skills both oral and written at all levels to successfully achieve outcomes, including presenting information for a range of audiences.
