Physiotherapy Assistant Role

Smilestones Therapy is looking for a Physiotherapy Student to work casually 5-10 hours per week. You will be trained and all sessions will be joint with the Paediatric Physiotherapist so experience is not necessary. You will get to work directly alongside the Physiotherapist, seeing a variety of interventions such as Spider Cage, Treadmill Training, Cuevas Medek Exercies (CME) and more.

Job Duties:

- Assist with handling, and set up of children in Spider Cage/Treadmill training
- Assist with motivation during sessions
- this may include playing games, holding up targets, reading books, building towers for them to crash over etc.
- Helping Physiotherapist with handling/catching during CME exercises - this will be taught, you don't need any experience
- Assisting with video/photos during exercises/assessments

Job Requirements:

- Blue Card/Working with Children's Check
- Ability to be on your knees/sitting on floor for up to 1 hour
- Good with children/families
- Strong interest in paediatrics
- Must be a current or former student for Physio/Ex Phys/Occupational Therapy

Hours are flexible and differ each day, however there would be some early mornings (between 615 - 830) and afternoons (1230-2) with potential for more hours. Looking for someone who can commit to at least 3 months-not all shifts need to be filled so you can be flexible with how many days you want to do. I also understand placements may affect schedule so this will be worked around as well.
