SC5 Demonstrated ability to deliver a comprehensive service to children and young people from 0-16 years, families and the wider community within an educational environment
SC 6 Highly developed counselling skills and extensive experience in counselling adolescents presenting with a range of issues, including the ability to manage critical incidents
**Role**:
The successful applicant will required to work and additional 114 hours during school holidays.
The Wellbeing Director at Doveton College supports children and young people with specific social and emotional needs to engage with education. An integral component of this role is to facilitate support for teachers and support staff when working with children and students at risk of disengaging from education, or experiencing crisis in their home life. The Wellbeing Director also co-ordinates relevant referrals and supports for families and contributes to the development of high quality programs that promote wellbeing and engagement throughout the College, from Early Learning through to year 9. The Wellbeing Director is a member of the School Improvement Team, and as such makes a significant contribution to the development of strategic plans, implementation and continuous improvement. The Wellbeing Director is responsible for the multidisciplinary team Wellbeing team and associated service providers, including those through Student Support Services.
**Responsibilities**:
- Facilitate intensive support for children and young people with specific social, emotional and educational_ _needs through College based interventions, including counselling, and referral to SSSO¿s and Allied Health agencies.
- Assess, plan and intervene in wellbeing programs for children and young people with specific social, emotional and educational needs who are at risk of disengaging from school or ELC.
- Provide appropriate advice to teaching and support staff regarding the impact that a student¿s situation may have upon their learning and suggest strategies to promote the student¿s/child¿s wellbeing and prevent disengagement, particularly primary prevention and early intervention.
- As a member of the leadership team contribute, develop and implement key policy initiatives within the College.
- Manage delivery of the Wellbeing programs budgetary, administrative and operational targets.
- Assist with the development of appropriate professional learning activities for staff in the area of wellbeing and engagement.
- Provide high quality advice and support to the school community including the Early Learning Centre, in the development and implementation of programs, procedures and policies on the wellbeing of students, particularly those at risk of disengagement from education
- Develop and implement operational policy and strategies and resource allocations.
- Advise the Leadership Team, of any _critical incidents impacting on student¿s wellbeing_ in a timely manner
- Attend regular meetings with the wider Leadership Team to _exchange _appropriate _and relevant_ information _in keeping with current legislation and regulations _eg CISS/FVISS, MARAM
- Facilitate regular Wellbeing related meeting eg, Case Conferencing, Wellbeing Meetings, Daily Briefing, Debriefing.
- Collaborate with College staff, Student Support Services and support agencies to develop and implement a range of programs and interventions with students and the school community that foster resilience, improve attendance and respond to identified social, emotional and educational needs.
- Foster working relationships with key stakeholders, including MOU development, oversight and review.
- Oversee the Wellbeing Team¿s case notes in line with Doveton College Policy/Procedures.
