**Pharmacy Technician - Grade 1**

**About our Pharmacy Department at Monash Health

**About The Role**

As part of the team supporting the Pharmacy Department, you’ll be primarily responsible for providing pharmacy technician services safely and professionally in a number of practice areas. You will regularly rotate through these practice areas and we invite our staff to express their preferences for which hospital site and area they would like to be rostered to (we are able to accommodate most staff preferences).

Your accountabilities may include:

- Pharmaceutical ward supply - work closely with the clinical pharmacy teams to manage and distribute appropriate levels of medicines and other products supplied by the pharmacy department
- Dispensary - assist with dispensing prescriptions, maintain stock levels within the dispensary, interact with patients, process patient payments
- Procurement - coordinate inventory, storage and quality management of medications and supplies within the pharmacy department
- Aseptic preparation suite - assist with preparation of products and quality assurance activities (after successful completion of appropriate training and credentialing)
- Other specialised areas - PBS management, clinical trials, clinical support

Full time positions are an 8- hour shift per day, Mondays to Fridays, plus some rostered overtime including weekends and public holidays.

**About You**

You are an experienced community pharmacy technician looking for a new career path in hospital pharmacy or you have been developing your hospital pharmacy technician skills and you are ready to take this next step in your Career.

**You are also**:

- Excellent with your written and verbal communication skills
- Able to work well with peers in a team environment and show flexibility and adaptability
- Proven ability to perform community or hospital pharmacy technician duties to a high standard
- Committed to continued professional development and training
- Able to work with a high degree of autonomy and accountability

**What you need**:

- Interest in being enrolled in Certificate III or Certificate IV in Hospital/Health Services Pharmacy Support
- Demonstrated experience as a community or hospital pharmacy technician in Australia
- Society of Hospital Pharmacists of Australia membership (desirable)
- Certificate II or Certificate IV in Community Pharmacy (desirable)
- Australian working rights
