Overview

Neighbourly Pharmacy is looking for a Pharmacy Assistant to join our Pharmacy team in Victoria, BC.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

- Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care

- Assist with entering, labeling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician

- Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols

- Accurate and efficient data entry of prescriptions and patient information

- Manage inventory, including ordering, receiving, restocking, and monitoring expiry dates

- Prepare and dispense compliance packaging (blister packs, dosettes) in accordance with patient profiles and pharmacy protocols

- Process and troubleshoot third-party insurance billing and resolve adjudication issues

- Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations

- Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers

- Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner

- Demonstrate strong knowledge of BC provincial pharmacy regulations and ensure compliance in all dispensing activities

- Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

- Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is preferred

- Previous experience within a pharmacy is required; minimum 3 years is required.

- Fully proficient in Kroll Pharmacy Software for prescription processing, workflow, and patient profile management

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

- Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers

- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
