We’re seeking a friendly, enthusiastic Bottle Shop Assistant to support daily in-store operations, help customers discover new products, and uphold our brand promise of “serious drinks, playful service, premium feel—without the premium price tag.” This casual position offers flexible shifts (including weekends).

**Key Responsibilities**

**Customer Engagement**
- Greet every visitor warmly, answer questions, and offer knowledgeable recommendations (no matter their experience level).
- Build rapport with regulars by remembering preferences and suggesting new arrivals.

**Point of Sale & Transactions**
- Operate the POS system accurately—processing sales, loyalty-program points, and age verification checks.
- Handle returns or exchanges in a professional, customer-first manner.

**Inventory Management & Back-of-House Duties**
- Monitor stock levels, notify management when key products run low, and assist with periodic inventory counts.
- Maintain a clean, safe work environment—this includes sweeping aisles, wiping down countertops, and recycling/disposing of packaging properly.

**Qualifications & Skills**

**Minimum Age**: 18+ (must be legally permitted to sell/serve alcohol in Victoria).
**Valid RSA**:In order to sell/serve Alcohol you must have a valid RSA in Victoria

**Experience**:

- Prior retail or hospitality experience is a plus, but not mandatory.
- Enthusiasm for beer, wine, or spirits and a willingness to learn quickly.

**Customer Focus**:

- Warm, approachable manner; genuine interest in connecting with customers.
- Strong communication skills—able to explain product details without jargon or pretension.

**Attention to Detail**:

- Accuracy handling cash and POS transactions.
- Ability to keep displays neat and rotate stock to minimise waste.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Able to be on your feet for extended periods.
- Comfortable lifting and carrying boxes (up to ~15 kg) during restocking.

**Job Type**: Casual

Pay: $33.31 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 - 10 per week

Schedule:

- Afternoon shift
- Evening shift
- Monday to Friday
- Public holidays
- Rotating roster
- Weekend availability

Supplementary Pay:

- Penalty rates
