**The Role**
The APS 3 Administration Officer role will be supporting the 2 DIV Head Quarters Logistics Cell located out of Dundas Barracks, Sydney. The day to day role will be to support the logistics cell from Dundas barracks.
Within the Administration function an APS3 Administration Officer is accountable under limited direction to perform and achieve straight forward procedural, operational, administrative and business support work within an integrated workforce. They are accountable to understand and comply with relevant legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policies requirements.
The applicant should be prepared to familiarise themselves with Army financial, travel and personnel administration. Member will be required to handle and file documents in Obj.
An APS3 Administration Officer may be required to provide some limited supervision and support to Defence employees at lower classifications, as well as providing on-the-job training to team members.
There will be a variety of jobs that will come up and may include:
- Preparing product such as power point briefs and printing materials for meetings.
- Supporting the team with booking travel and car hire for upcoming site visits around Australia.
- Supporting the team with maintaining task trackers and registers.
- Supporting the team with share point page and ensuring it has up to date information.
The working hours have some flexibility that can be discussed with the COL however it is expected that 8hrs per day from 8am - 4pm is achieved. The team work Army Reserve hours meaning Tuesdays are from 1pm - 9pm and some weekends. It is not expected that the ADMIN Officer would work these hours however there may be a requirement if the operational tempo or short notice task comes in.
The team will assign a mentor to guide you and facilitate a healthy, happy and professional outcome can be achieved.
**About our Team**
The team is a friendly and welcoming group who focus on the overall logistics across Australia. A friendly and welcoming group who do a number of social activities that are enjoyable such as morning coffee and team lunch every so often, whilst working hard and maintaining a professional environment.
The team often have high tempo and low tempo periods which depend on the operational requirements and as such each week is slightly different. Tasks and requirements come up at short notice which changes the focus for a period of time before retuning to normal, a degree of flexibility and an open mind will be helpful.
Experience with the military and Army would be helpful particularly in the logistics environment such as Q Stores, workshops or transport.
Skills that will be helpful are a good understanding of logistics and high level management of people and equipment. In addition an ability to learn new skills and systems quickly.
A good level of computer literacy including MS Word, Excel and Outlook skills, experience and understanding of general business administration processes and functions would be a benefit.
