**Duties and responsibilities**

The APS5 Assessor's role will be to assess risk from incoming incident reports, liaise with providers to gather relevant information, and formulate recommendations for appropriate action, including comprehensive report writing.

The Assessment Officer role will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:

- Manage incoming reports & make initial or follow-up assessments
- Assess risk and take regulatory action
- Provide accurate information, support stakeholders and educate providers about new requirements
- Liaise with other regulatory teams within the Commission
- Maintain and enter accurate data into the databases and compile reports to inform decision making
- Prepare cases for transfer and/or complex detailed assessment from a risk management perspective
- Train, mentor, and manage staff if required

**Your experience**

To excel as an Assessment Officer, you're a qualified and proactive individual with a strong work ethic, great attention to detail and previous assessment and report writing skills.

To be considered with us, you can demonstrate the following:

- Previous government experience - min APS4 or state equivalent OR assessment experience from private organisations in financial services
- Exposure or interest in clinical assessment
- Solid experience in complex report writing
- Experience in a high-paced environment, strong organisational skills to meet deadlines
- Ability to manage sensitive and confronting information and bring a productive contribution to the team
- Computer (MS Suite) and ability to quickly adapt to various IT platforms
