**About the role**

By fostering strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, they facilitate positive engagement and informed statutory planning outcomes. The Planning Assessments Officer tracks project assessments to meet determination targets and participate in continuous improvement reviews of planning processes, balancing assessment demands with the overall school delivery program.

**About you**
- Proficient in conveying complex technical concepts to diverse stakeholders while remaining informed about evolving legislation.
- Actively involved in assessing planning processes.
- Possesses a strategic mindset complemented by solutions focused problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrates excellence in delivering high-quality, evidence-based advice to support legislative compliance.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Tertiary qualifications in Urban and Regional Planning, Environmental Management/Environmental Science, Engineering and Project Management or demonstrated related equivalent experience.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
