**About the role**
We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and compassionate individual to join the Community and Development Care team as a Service Commencement Worker.
The Service Commencement Worker will work with senior citizens and those with disabilities, providing services in their homes which aim to maximise their wellness and independence by using the wellness model. Through frequent health and safety checks, the Service Commitment Worker will determine which eligible services clients are suitable for within Glen Eira City Council.
Other responsibilities include:
- undertake first service shifts for new and potential clients, and regular service shifts as required
- undertake OHS checks of clients and their home
- complete Client Service Agreements and Service Plans
- ongoing reviews of Client Services
- assisting with handovers to relevant Administration & Rostering Officers
- update client files in Corporate and Departmental databases
- completion of Client Packs
**About you**
To be successful in this role you will be professional and courteous with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and other members solving and assessing urgency of matters, with the knowledge to recognise when issues need escalation.
You will also have:
- experience in an administrative role and/or the completion of a post-secondary course in business/administration
- relevant experience working with frail people and those with a disability or Certificate III in Home and Community Care, Aged Care
- experience in identifying potential hazards in the home
- Employee Working with children Check (or willing to obtain)
