What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Covert Analysis and Assurance Monitor Team Member.
**This role includes**:
Working as part of a team in achieving individual and team outputs through demonstrated analytical, communication and organisational skills
Monitoring and processing communication and network data, including lawfully intercepted telecommunications product and metadata
Contribute to providing operational and real-time support through the collection, analysis and dissemination of covertly and lawfully intercepted product that assists in support criminal investigations
Identification and communication of operationally relevant information;
Utilise multiple AFP and computer based information systems to interrogate, input, collate and retrieve data for operational support
Maintain specialised knowledge of technical aspects of CAA, including high level use of AFP computer systems and enhance the AFP’s ability to prevent, detect, investigate and disrupt crime
Positively influence and encourage a productive and harmonious working environment; and
Undertaking a range of operational support tasks including team administrative duties when requested or as directed.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
What will you do?
This role contributes to providing effective close operational support to the frontline through the delivery of enhanced covertly collected communication and network data.
Essential Requirements
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one
Ability to work a rostered operations working patter as per Section 20 of the AFP Enterprise Agreement 2017-2020
Obtain a medical clearance from AFP Medical Services which includes a hearing test component
The ability to successfully pass ongoing psychological screening specific to this position
Desirable Requirements
The following skills and/or experience would be highly regarded:
Experience or strong interest in communication and/or network data
Additional Information
- This role attracts a composite allowance in recognition of expanded working hours, normal patterns of attendance and shift patterns (such as afternoon shifts, weekends and Designated Public Holidays) that are required under the Operations working pattern. In accordance with the AFP Enterprise Agreement 2017- 2020, an employee who is required to work in accordance with the Operations working pattern will receive a Core Composite of 22% in addition to their Base Salary which will count as salary for superannuation. The Commissioner has the authority to remove a composite from a role.
