**The role**:
We currently have an exciting opportunity for qualified **Full Time - Meat Manager** to join our team based in **MT Tamborine.**

The Meat Department Manager is responsible for providing leadership, guidance and coaching to the team to maximise sales growth and control costs. You will also maintain high standards of product quality and presentation and ensure safe food handling and Hygiene awareness in your team. Retail leadership experience, proven track record of sales and profit achievement, strong communication skills and commitment to quality customer service will be the keys to success in this role.

**Key responsibilities;**

- Inspire customers through presentation, merchandising and stock management;

- Be bold and act with pace while ensuring quality of service and product.
- Must create a customer focused department.

**Qualification and Experience;**
- An Australian Butchery Trade Certificate;
- Fresh food retail or supermarket knowledge with a customer focused approach;
- Competency of ordering, cost control, wage control, rostering and gross profit budgeting;
- Understands calculations for Gross profit, attention to detail of ordering, purchase recording and stock taking.
- Supermarket/department management experience;
- Experience breaking of Beef, Lamb, Pork and Chicken;
- Experience with product preparation and presentation for sale, in a supermarket environment;
- Previous experience managing staff;
- Computer literate for promotional and forecasting purposes;
- Exceptional knowledge and understanding of costings & markdown impact, provide active feedback to butchers working in the department to reduce shrinkage and improve sales & margins;
- Committed to ensuring compliance to QA, Weights & measures, and WHS initiatives & requirements.
- Work with Senior Management constructive feedback to improve business;
- Food handling/safety knowledge and Certificate;
- Excellent merchandising skills;
- Excellent Customer Service;
- Positive attitude.
- Passion and enthusiasm, with a hands-on approach.
- A commitment to Occupational Heath and Safety and Food Safety standards.
- A current driver licenses.

The ability to work on a rotating roster over 7 days. We are ideally seeking a person who can make a long-term commitment, who is reliable and punctual but most of all understands the meat industry and what customers want. It would be advantageous if you do have experience working within a supermarket environment.
