As a Social Performance Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our social performance initiatives, ensuring our engagement with local stakeholders is meaningful, effective, and aligned with our company's values. You will work on site at Boddington alongside two Aboriginal workforce mentor advisors and a cultural heritage / cultural program advisor and be supported by experienced social performance professionals. You will be part of a community of social performance professionals working at four mines site in diverse community contexts in the Asia Pacific region. You will collaborate with key community groups to manage local community issues, support social investment programs, and uphold Newmont’s social performance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Local stakeholder engagement with a focus on the planning and implementation of activities to further foster strong relationships with local communities.
- Support the planning, implementation, and tracking of social investment and donation programs.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and tracking of social impact management programs to mitigate any adverse effects on communities.
- Work to comply with Regional and Global Newmont social performance policies, standards, and procedures.
- Speak up when critical issues or problems are identified that could affect the team's work.
- Contribute ideas to enhance processes and methods with a focus on ensuring continuous improvement of team’s outcomes.

Qualifications& Experience
- Degree in social sciences and/or education in sustainability or science communications is preferred.
- Proficiency in social performance management, stakeholder management, social impact management, cultural heritage management, and human rights, and events management.
- Familiarity with industry trends and regulations, and the ability to conduct specific activities using appropriate tools and processes to achieve defined business outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, including, project management, conflict resolution and negotiations.
- Cultural competence and sensitivity to and respect for Aboriginal communities and stakeholders and a relatable conversational style
- Strong alignment of personal values with Newmont values.
- Organised, ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects concurrently.
