
Manager, Health Strategy Compliance

Key accountabilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary team in delivering regulatory services, strategic initiatives, policy and operational projects relating to the Scheme and other health-related legislative frameworks.
- Lead the design, planning and execution of regulatory programs including licensing of medical providers, compliance programs including audits and investigations using a data-driven, risk-based approach.
- Exercise high-level written and verbal communication skills to consult with internal and external stakeholders on complex health matters.
- Lead the development and implementation of regulatory compliance policies and procedures.
- Manage procurement, negotiation and contract management of providers.
- Provide high level analytical, research and problem-solving skills with the capacity to interpret complex information, including proactive identification and resolution of issues.
- Provide high level and authoritative advice on complex issues and recommend policy, strategic and regulatory options.
- Manage performance in a team environment, including setting priorities for the completion of tasks within acceptable timeframes and competing deadlines.
- Capacity to work effectively under pressure and exercise sound judgement, particularly in matters of confidentiality and political sensitivity.
- Work collaboratively and negotiate with colleagues and with other levels of government, industry and non-government organisations to achieve outcomes and deliver on Government commitments.
- Establish and maintain a working relationship and provide support to RSHQ's inspectorates in relation to health compliance or health related matters of other investigations.
- Coordinate, prepare and deliver complex reports, consultation papers, policy submissions, briefing notes, legislation, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence.
- Provide high level support and advice to the Director, Health Strategy and Compliance, and undertake other duties as directed and required.
Essential / desirable requirements
- Knowledge and experience as a professional regulator in a public agency is highly desirable.
- Experience in leading teams in administrative decision making, regulatory compliance, auditing and/or investigations is highly desirable.
- Experience in implementing major programs, projects and government policy is desirable.
- Qualifications in law, leadership, public sector management, project management, investigations or equivalent is desirable.
- Knowledge of the Queensland resources sector, its safety and health risk management and legislative framework is desirable.
