Position summary

The General Manager position is a great opportunity join a small dynamic and innovative team and to grow and learn, while contributing to the advancement of social issues relevant to young people and representation of the Youth Sector who support young people across NSW.

The position reports to the CEO and alongside the CEO manages all major aspects of the organisation, including governance, team members, projects, initiatives and pillars of work, processes, finances, stakeholders, reporting, and organisation compliance. You will ensure the organisation regularly engages and delivers outcomes to a range of stakeholders, including young people from diverse cultures, backgrounds and experiences, the Youth Sector, Government, and various funders and partners.

Key accountabilities
- Manage team members to ensure productivity, including assigning responsibilities, making relevant resources and training available, onboarding and offboarding, running internal meetings, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) compliance, the Enterprise Agreement and Award, timesheets and leave provisions.
- Assist the CEO with staff recruitment, performance management and reviews
- Manage and drive projects, initiatives and pillars of work, resource and responsibility management, improving the quality of outputs, timelines, risk mitigation and monitoring
- Produce, implement, improve and manage internal operations, processes, policies, and technology, to ensure effective, affordable and timely delivery of projects and initiatives
- Manage the organisation's operational finances, including reviewing invoices, receipts, reimbursements, and remittances
- Assist the CEO with budget preparation, acquittals and reporting when required.
- Manage organisational compliance, including insurance, the office space and ACNC requirements.
- Manage external consultants, and negotiate operational projects as directed by CEO

**Selection criteria: Essential**
- A relevant tertiary qualification, including for example in management, policy development, community services, communications
- Experience in people, project and/or operations management
- Confident technical skills using a range of online systems for teleconferencing, surveys, producing and publishing digital content, and working in a Windows environment using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to follow internal policies and procedures, approval processes, working under direction, responding well to feedback, and always be learning
- Possess excellent self-organisational and time management skills, proactively managing your accountabilities, whilst being able work in an agile environment where priorities change regularly and competing deadlines need to be met
- Working successfully in a team environment, focussed on shared organisational outcomes, contributing to teamwork and organisational administration duties, whist maintaining a professional and friendly manner
- Professional written and verbal communication skills, with a range of stakeholders, including government and non-government organisations and young people, and a demonstrated capacity to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders

**Selection criteria: Desirable**
- Experience working with young people
- Experience working in the non-for-profit sector
- Experience working in the social work, youth work, or community services sector
