The roleThe Briefing and Liaison Officer provides high level support, management and coordination of incoming and outgoing correspondence for the Clinical Planning and Service Strategy (CPSS) Division. You will liaise between the CPSS branches, Office of the Deputy Director-General and other internal and external stakeholders. The position also provides leadership in correspondence and records management for the division.
**Key responsibilities include**:
- Prepare, collate and edit outgoing correspondence and advice to ensure accurate, timely and relevant information is provided.
- Co-ordinate and manage the preparation of briefing notes, discussion papers, correspondence and advice.
- Assist in resolving problems arising from the provision of conflicting information and ensure consistency of advice with Government policy and Departmental objectives and procedures.
- Liaise, negotiate and consult with the senior management and officers across the Department to ensure correspondence is completed in a timely manner whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships with key stakeholders.
**The successful personYou will have**:
- Demonstrated experience in managing high volumes of incoming and outgoing correspondence, including briefings notes, ministerials, and questions on notice.
- Demonstrated ability to establish priorities and organise workflow to meet strict deadlines and produce quality outcomes with close attention to detail to ensure that documentation is of the highest quality, including editing and quality assurance.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, discretion and professional integrity when providing advice at all levels.
- Ability to acquire an in-depth knowledge of the organisation, functions, activities and policies of the Department of Health and Clinical Planning and Service Strategy Division.
