**Our Parks and Recreation Planning Department,** part of the wider Infrastructure Planning Directorate is looking for an additional Urban Designer. The PRP Department **_comprises_** three teams - Landscape Design, Urban Design and Sport and Recreation - and is responsible for the planning and design of Council’s open space estate.

This role will be within our Urban Design Team. They are responsible for planning and design of landscapes including streetscapes and urban civic spaces from local to regional scale.

**About the Opportunity**:
As one of our **_Urban Designers _**you will work collaboratively across the organisation to plan and design civic and urban open spaces and facilities ensuring industry best practice to meet the needs of the community within the Moreton Bay Regional Council area.

You will undertake network gap analysis (including management of consultants) to deliver feasibility investigations, strategic technical reports, engineering designs, concepts, visualisations and detailed cost estimates for a range of urban infrastructure development projects.

You will provide effective solutions to urban design matters with an emphasis on current and future community needs and financial, social and environmental sustainability.

**About you**:
We are seeking someone who has knowledge and experience in urban design/landscape architecture, research & analysis, concept design, detailed design and production of construction documentation; preferably in local government. Skills in the development of wayfinding and interpretive signage strategies and documentation for public open spaces would be desirable.

You will have excellent project management skills and time management skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities and meet deadlines.

You will thrive in building great relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You will communicate and engage effectively at all levels.

You will have:

- experience in network analysis and the delivery of civic and open space planning projects to achieve best practice design outcomes
- sound knowledge and applied understanding of relevant legislation, policies and industry best practice standards
- proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite of programs. Experience using AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) would be highly regarded.
- You will hold a Degree in urban design/landscape architecture or equivalent, be eligibility for registration with Australian Institute of Landscape Architect (AILA) and have a General Induction Licence (White Card)._
