Due to current and predicted continued growth of our wonderful region we have the opportunity to offer a new role within the **_Parks and Recreation Planning Department._**
Our**_ Parks and Recreation Planning Department,_**_ is _part of the wider Infrastructure Planning Directorate. The PRP Department comprises three teams - **Landscape Design, Urban Design and Sports and Recreation Planning** - and is responsible for the planning and design of Council’s open space estate.
- The Landscape Design team is responsible for planning and design of landscapes including parks, playgrounds and natural areas from local to regional scale.
- The Urban Design team is responsible for planning and design of landscapes including streetscapes and urban civic spaces from local to regional scale.
**About our opportunity**
As our Parks & Recreation Planning and Design Coordinator you will be in a leadership role within the team. You will have the opportunity to support design discipline leaders in establishing and maintaining quality standards that enable the efficient delivery of planning and design services for current and future open space land and infrastructure to drive integrated and sustainable outcomes.
You will oversee the programming and scheduling of open space programs and projects including feasibility investigations, project inception documents, site planning and design to ensure project delivery outcomes are achieved in line with scope, time and budget.
You will be an advisor and mentor across two key discipline areas: Landscape Design and Urban Design. You will build and maintain high level relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure agreed service standards and delivery outcomes are achieved.
**About you**
We are seeking a leader and an expert in these fields. You will have knowledge and experience in the programming, scheduling and meeting budget expectations in the delivery of contemporary park, civic space and broad scale open space and natural areas planning and design projects.
A key part of the role will be to leading and developing a team to drive high performance outcomes, including sign off / approval of design drawings and specifications - a keen eye for detail and innovation.
You will bring experience responding to customer requests and enquiries and be able to manage team performance in a timely manner which reflects Council’s core values -**_ Service, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect and Sustainabilty._**
You will have a Degree in Design (Landscape Architecture) including eligibility for membership of the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects or formal Project Management Qualifications with significant experience in delivery of a diverse range of landscape and open space projects; as well as General Induction Licence (White Card) and current C class driver’s licence.
