**The Opportunity**

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a** Civil Engineering Technician **to join our Melbourne office.

You will be part of our accomplished Earth and Environment section and will work alongside our established team of Geotechnical and Tunnelling technical experts, assisting in delivering successful projects. Your role will also be well supported across our business, with skilled resources in other sections.

Your technical expertise will be deployed across projects in the transport, power, water, mining, property and government sectors to continue the growth of an already successful and reputable capability.

- Regional Rail - Footscray to Deer Park
- Suburban Rail Loop
- Melbourne Metro
- Level Crossing Removal Project
- North East Link Program
- Fishermans Bend Innovation Precinct
- Public Housing Renewal

The salary we are offering for the position is in the range of $90,000 to $95,000 (Total Remuneration Package).

**What you will do**
- Provide technical advice on general geoscientific issues to clients and internal staff;
- Maintain existing client relationships, and build and develop new business;
- Prepare proposals, tenders, reports and high quality deliverables;
- Assist with data analysis, reporting and invoicing.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Build reputation as Technical Specialist/ Consultant. Business Development with respect to pile testing services;
- Keep abreast of advancing technologies, methods and research & development;
- Managing, analysing and reporting for projects involving foundation pile testing for all types of structures, such as building, bridges, wharfs etc. Manage and coordinate geotechnical design components on infrastructrure projects;
- Liaise with and provide support to other departments which specialise in collecting geotechnical data for geotechnical testing, ranging from pile testing, geophysical and onsite assisting with other methods of testing undertaken within the company.
- Liaise with and provide pile construction and geophysicist support for specialists from other disciplines or offices within Golder. Liaising with client from proposal to completion;
- Transferring knowledge on foundation testing (teaching and training);
- Supervise, coordinate and evaluate activities carried out by less experienced professionals
- Collaborate with other foundation tested and geophysics teams in the Australia/New Zealand Region. This will include travel which is a requirement for this role.
