Kitchen Hand

Supporting our Kitchen team, our Kitchen Hands ensure that the highest level of cleanliness is maintained by cleaning and sanitizing all of our kitchen equipment. This is a physical role, so your capability and physical fitness to lift large pots and pans and work on your feet all day is important. As we approach our summer season our restaurant will get very busy, so your ability to work at a fast pace under pressure with the ability to prioritise will see you excel.
Nestled on fifty acres of absolute beach front paradise, Elements of Byron is a privately owned, award-winning resort offering luxury accommodation options, world-class resort facilities and unforgettable experiences. We have a beautiful central Lagoon pool, an award-winning Adults only pool, multiple food and beverage outlets that include, Breeze Café and Azure Restaurant. Barefoot luxury at every step.

There may be weekend and public holidays work, so we require your flexibility to work across 7 days of the week. **As we approach December and January we ask that you are available to work during this time.**
We have casual positions available up to 38hrs week.
**You will be responsible for**:

- Cleaning duties including sanitizing all food and storage areas, walk in freezers, ovens, freestanding hot and cold boxes and dry storage cupboards.
- Operating dishwashing machine
- Ensuring kitchen is kept clean and tidy according to current health and hygiene regulations
- Ensuring each outlet is supplied with sanitised, clean and dry operational equipment
- Safely handling chemicals and equipment as per manufacturer’s instructions
- Ensuring rubbish is collected and disposed of correctly from all kitchen areas each shift
- Contributing to sustainable approach through energy conservation and the careful use of water, cleaning materials and other appliances

**Requirements**:

- You must be **reliable** and arrive for your designated shifts on time
- A positive and friendly attitude
- **Available to work all of December and January**:

- Permanent Australian residency or Working Holiday Visa
- Previous experience in a commercial kitchen environment preferred
- Understanding of food safety requirements
- Availability to work nights and weekends
