Medical Receptionist

We are seeking a receptionist/administrator to join our team at St. Kerellos Medical Centre in Mentone. The clinic is conveniently located next to Mentone train station.

We are looking for someone who is self-motivated, with excellent communication and organisational skills.

The position is available immediately upon completing two training shifts, and will consist of two to three 6 hour shifts per week, with flexibility to occasionally cover other shifts as needed. Shifts are between 8:00am to 2:00pm, however can be negotiable with other staff. Must be available on Saturdays between 9am to 2pm.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Being the first point of contact for patients: answering phone calls, coordinating appointments, responding to patient queries and requests, and greeting patients as they arrive.
- Using the relevant programs to manage patient files, appointments, and process billing.
- Liaise with other medical professionals over the phone and coordinate their communications with the GP in a timely and efficient manner.
- Process incoming and outgoing fax communications.
- Ensure that the waiting area and clinic is kept clean and tidy.
- Be responsible for ensuring the courier pickup of pathology samples from the clinic.
- Monitor and restock medical supplies in the clinic rooms.
- Assist the GP with other administrative duties, as required.
- Management of vaccinations.

**About You**
- Must have the right to work in Australia.
- Excellent customer service skills - with a professional in-person and telephone manner.
- Good problem solving skills, able to respond flexibly and promptly to arising issues.
- Sensitive and aware of confidentiality requirements in healthcare.
- Responsible and able to confidently staff the reception area by yourself.
- Previous administrative or receptionist experience favourable, but not required.
