About The Position

The Technical Officer will provide technical support and services to staff, students, and partners to support teaching and commercial objectives within the College of Vocational Education (VE). Specializing in the Built Environment & Sustainability Cluster, the Technical Officer will assist with maintaining technical facilities and supporting environmental fieldwork.

Their role will ensure that all facilities, equipment, and processes meet the highest industry and educational standards. This will involve working across a broad range of activities both in the laboratory and in the field.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:
- Proven technical knowledge and expertise to work in both the Social Care and Health Cluster and the Built Environment & Sustainability Cluster- Demonstrated experience in maintaining technical Laboratories, environmental field work (water quality testing and plant identification or equivalent industry experience, including coordinating maintenance of equipment and field work.-
- High communication skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with a broad range of individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.- Demonstrated ability to deliver flexible solutions to technical problems, preferably within an educational context in flora and fauna, Biology and General Science.- Ability to demonstrate flexibility and initiative, by working independently and with limited direction, as well as effectively within a dynamic team environment with multiple and conflicting priorities and competing deadlines.
