Talent pool to be created for future temporary and ongoing roles **Location**:4PSQ Parramatta or Gosford or Sydney Mckell location (travel required between these locations) **Salary Range**:$110,266 - $122,058 + super **People Services, People & Culture, Department of Customer Service** **About the Opportunity**: The People & Culture Division at the Department of Customer Service has an exciting opportunity for an Advisor Safety and Risk Management to join our high-performing and progressive Safety & Risk Management team. This is a great opportunity to work collaboratively within a centralised Centre of Expertise function, where you will conduct a range of activities including: - Providing high-level advice and support to managers and employees in managing WHS risks, and liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders to foster consultation in risk-mitigating activities and support the organisation’s strategic agenda on health, safety, and wellbeing. - Supporting managers, workers, and consultative groups to enhance their awareness of WHS & IM information and promote compliance with legislative obligations. - Developing and fostering internal and external business relationships to manage WHS & IM information, risks, and processes to elicit positive outcomes and enhance the organisation’s safety management system. - Providing expertise in the review of WHS & IM information, procedures, and practices to enhance the efficacy of systems. - Coordinating the exchange of information relevant to legislative updates and innovations within the industry to foster the adaptability of the organisation’s Safety Management System. - Facilitating strategies to proactively monitor health and safety risks, and to identify, review, and plan WHS improvement strategies and training needs. - Assisting the Occupational Health and Recover at Work team in the implementation of preventative strategies. **Your day-to-day**: In this role, you will work closely with various stakeholders, providing expert advice on WHS matters while coordinating risk management activities. You will ensure that our diverse 12,000+ organisation remains compliant with current legislative requirements while promoting a culture of safety. **About You**: To be successful in this role, you will possess a great blend of skills, including: - Previous experience in a Work Health and Safety role, ideally within a government or large organisation. - Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. - Adept at managing multiple tasks and prioritising workloads effectively. - A solid understanding of WHS legislation and industry best practices. - Proactive in identifying risks and proposing innovative solutions. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders. - A collaborative and proactive approach with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently. - A customer-centric and growth mindset with great communication and stakeholder engagement skills. - Experience with continuous improvement activities to deliver business outcomes.
