**ABOUT THE BRANCH**
The Government Services Branch (GSB) delivers Whole-of-Government services to Commonwealth agencies, including developing and supporting the secure telecommunications and digital collaboration needs of the Australian Government.
The branch is responsible for providing and managing:
- GovTEAMS - a comprehensive whole-of-government collaboration service for the Australian Public Service.
- Intra Commonwealth Optical-fibre Network (ICON) - an optical fibre network that links Commonwealth offices throughout Canberra.
- GovLINK - a secure inter-agency communication service that encrypts all nominated traffic, classified up to the PROTECTED level, between agency internet gateways.
- The Parliamentary Document Management System (PDMS), delivering services to support the management of parliamentary workflow across government.
- GovAI, a Whole-of-Government pilot aiming to enable the safe and efficient uplift of AI capability and adoption across the APS.
**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**
The GovAI Program Office is seeking a proactive and experienced Engagement Officer throughout the pilot period of the 2024/25 financial year. Pending the outcome of the pilot, there is potential for this position to be extended or to become permanent. The GovAI Engagement Officer plays a vital supporting role in the success of the GovAI Pilot by assisting in the recruitment and management of pilot participants and contributing to the effective management of the GovAI Community. This role will work closely with the GovAI Engagement Lead and other team members to ensure the smooth execution of engagement activities. Key responsibilities include:
GovAI Community Support:
- Assist in executing strategies to increase awareness and visibility of the GovAI initiative across the APS.
- Support the growth and retention of membership within the GovAI Community by helping to implement innovative engagement approaches.
- Help encourage active participation, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration within the community, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Track community engagement metrics, providing regular updates and insights to the GovAI Engagement Lead and other stakeholders.
Pilot Participant Support:
- Aid in the identification and recruitment of diverse participants for the GovAI Pilot, ensuring representation from key APS agencies and departments.
- Serve as a supporting contact for pilot participants, facilitating communication, and helping to address any challenges or concerns.
- Assist in collecting and analysing participant feedback to assess the efficacy of the pilot, and support the development of recommendations for improvements.
- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure pilot participants receive necessary support and resources.
Team Collaboration:
- Contribute to the development and execution of engagement strategies under the direction of the GovAI Engagement Lead.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to align engagement activities with broader project goals.
- Represent GovAI at forums, workshops, and conferences when needed, supporting the initiative’s visibility within the APS and beyond.
- Assist with reporting requirements and other engagement activities as required.
