
Communications Team Lead

Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Communications, the Communications Team Lead is responsible for the recommendation, development, delivery, and reporting and analysis of strategically aligned communications at Chisholm.
The Communications Team Lead will:
- Foster a consistent and coordinated approach to communications across the Institute by adeptly managing internal and external (owned and earned) communications channels, and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with a wide variety of stakeholders including students, staff, employers, agency partners, external organisations, and media.
- Provide sound counsel and actionable communications recommendations.
- Develop and implement communications plans that align with Institute projects, campaigns and strategies.
The Communications Team Lead is a member of the Marketing and Communications senior leadership group and contributes to the achievement of corporate objectives. They have exceptional negotiation and persuasion skills and will coach, support and empower direct reports alongside Marketing and Communications teams members to deliver high-quality, reputation-enhancing communications.
**ABOUT YOU**
You will have a Communications degree, or similar, and extensive demonstrable experience including leadership and management experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant management and leadership experience and/or education or training. You will have a collaborative and engaging presence backed by:
- Demonstrable professional experience, in a senior communications role with advanced leadership skills and experience.
- Ability to take a whole-of-organisation strategic outlook and to identify and support the strategic vision and priorities of the organisation and leadership team.
- Experience advising senior teams and using influence to deliver positive outcomes for the organisation and stakeholders.
- Experience coaching senior leaders and staff to build their communications and engagement capabilities, including social media engagement.
- Ability to form and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to develop strategies, messaging and content for diverse audiences and channels.
- A strategic understanding of content use and demonstrated experience managing content across traditional and new communications channels.
- Demonstrable experience distilling business needs and subsequently recommending, developing, implementing, and analysing communications strategies and plans.
- Experience with social media strategy, management, and community engagement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills including exceptional storytelling and presentation skills, and the ability to convey complex information in simple language.
- Excellent editing ability and strong attention to detail.
- Analytical capability, strong organisational skills and a high level of attention to detail.
- Agile working style with the ability to problem solve and manage multiple projects and issues.
