The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Marketing and Communications Advisor to join our growing Group Marketing & Communications team in either our Sydney or Brisbane office. In this role you'll be responsible for communicating and delivering corporate, marketing and media communications alongside internal communications initiatives across all SMEC’s global divisions, in support of and alignment with SMEC’s global brand strategy, as well as organisational and divisional business goals.

As the Marketing and Communications Advisor, you will own and manage the marketing and communication needs of our Global transport portfolio (roads & highways, rail, geotechnical, aviation and ports).

Key responsibilities:

- Planning and implementing marketing and communications campaigns with clear change management and action plans.
- Providing marketing and communications support, ensuring that communications are maintained across all stakeholder levels.
- Developing and implementing measurement techniques and obtain ongoing feedback to evaluate the effectiveness of all marketing and communications activities including the governance of key messages, tactics, budgets, and timing.
- Assisting managers and other stakeholders to understand and cascade key messages at global and divisional levels.
- Developing and reviewing communications for key global initiatives as directed by the SMEC Global Communications & Marketing team.
- Developing relevant project management plans and promotional material to support initiatives and campaigns.
- Preparing marketing and communications updates, along with key campaign and project updates.
- Assisting in external communication of key messages and create pathways to market for SMEC marketing and communications.
- Supporting the marketing and communications team in the delivery of marketing and communication solutions in line with business strategy.

About you

- Tertiary Degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Management or related
- 4 plus years’ experience in a similar marketing role within a professional services environment
- Ability to create and drive strategic marketing campaigns, perform in a fast-paced environment and provide clear reporting on ROI
- Exceptional communication skills - you will be a skilled and confident communicator able to connect with people stakeholders across the business, both face to face and digitally/via VC
- Exceptional organisational skills
- Ability to distil complex information into marketing copy, for publication across a broad range of channels
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify broader cross sector opportunities in line with the core business objectives
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- A genuine team player and desire to work collaboratively with the broader team
