**The Team**

Clyde & Co is an international law firm, with the largest, dedicated cyber incident response practice in Australia. We are a law firm, but we're not your average law firm and we have very clear objective of being a go-to trusted advisor to clients for managing cyber risk, from more than just the law.

The team advises small, medium, and large organisations operating across Australia and New Zealand, regionally and globally in response to a range of cyber incidents, as well as assisting clients on matters of privacy compliance, cyber incident readiness and resilience exercises. In recent times, the team has advised on over 1,500 incidents, including several of the highest profile and complex incidents.

The broader Cyber, Data and Digital Law team is led by John Moran, Reece Corbett-Wilkins, Richard Berkahn, Alec Christie, and Chris McLaughlin, who are all internationally recognised in their fields. The team is known for creating supportive platforms for team members to succeed, with a very strong focus on collaborative culture, personal/professional development, and client facing problem solving.

**About the role**

The Communications Manager, is a client facing, non-legal, issues and crisis communications role aimed at helping clients develop and implement communication and reputation management strategies, internally and externally, both before a cyber incident occurs and most critically, when a cyber incident occurs (cyber incident-response).

Reporting directly to the Director of Communications Cyber - Austraila as their 2iC, you will work closely with the Director, our cyber lawyers and other cyber-risk and incident response professionals to provide the highest quality solutions and outcomes for our clients.

We are flexible about location, working hours, days and can consider arrangements based on your current circumstances and needs.

**Key responsibilities**

This is a broad ranging role that will see you:

- Engage on cyber incidents from inception as part of our suite of services to clients under attack
- Assist clients formulate crisis communications strategies, and support the client in the roll out of those communications
- Support clients with acute and longer term reputation issues arising from cyber incidents
- Providing a consultancy service across multiple incidents to multiple clients at once
- Provide calm, professional strategic advice to clients in stressful and, often upsetting, situations
- UItilise your strong media relationships and contacts
- Draft incident response communications, media releases, ASX announcements, government briefing notes, social media posts and other related communications collateral
- Work to prepare / coach client spokespeople to effectively convey key messages, and manage their organisation's reputation through the incident

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will be an effective relationship builder, and able to manage competing priorities. You must be highly organised, have a great attention to detail, deadline oriented, a logical and strategic thinker, and thrive in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
- Degree in communications, journalism, public affairs, public relations, political science, commerce or other relevant discipline
- Interest in cyber and privacy related breaches is beneficial but not essential
- At least 10 years + issues and crisis communications experience gained from a public relations, communications, media relations, public affairs, or government relations role
- At least 2-3 years experience managing small teams
- Proven ability to work with key senior stakeholders in a corporate environment.
- The ability to work under pressure while maintaining impeccable attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Solid media contacts
- Ability to work independently and within a team
- A solid understanding of technology and how it can be developed to create processes and automation in respect of communications, stakeholder engagement and reputation management

Provide business development assistance with all other reasonable work-related fee earner requests.
