**The role**:
We have a dynamic opportunity for an experienced Manager for our Central Weighing and Spectral departments at our Sorbonne Cresent facility in Canning Vale. You will be excited by the challenges of our business and the variety this role offers ensuring both short term and long term objectives are met.

The purpose of the Central Weighing and Spectral Manager role is to ensure that a safe environment is provided for your team to produce quality sample results, meet high performance targets and report to key stakeholders in a timely fashion.

Some of your tasks will be, but not limited to:

- Provide a clean and safe working environment for staff to safely work and develop in the department following all QHSE procedures and policies.
- Ensuring the Financial and Functional control of the department meets or exceeds the KPI’s and the business expectations, to maximise the operational profit.
- Provide feedback regarding quality of work and requirements for improvement to other departments
- Monitoring performance and development and performance manage employees where required.
- Maximise equipment efficiencies, ensuring equipment is regularly Maintained, Calibrated and Repaired in a timely manner.
- Provide technical support to our Business Development Team, Client Service Team and our remote regional sites, where required.

**What’s needed?**

To be successful in this position you will have:

- Minimum of 5 years working experience in Geo-analytical Laboratories
- A Formal Tertiary Qualification in Science such as a BSc is required.
- Experience in Sample preparation and other laboratory analysis will be advantageous.
- Experience in Sample Analysis and Quality Control would be highly regarded.
- Good understanding of sample testing operations and maintenance is required.
- Current Radiation licence to operate X-Ray instrumentation will be highly regarded.
- Experience as a Radiation Officer will be highly regarded,
- Exposure to operating and maintaining Spectral equipment is highly regarded
- Strong communication, leadership and organisational skills are required.
- Proficient computer software literacy
- Excellent organisational, teamwork, problem solving and communication skills
