Jaxam Engineering Pty Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Bis Industries is a Recognised Service facility for Underground Coal Equipment based in Cardiff NSW. Bis is a resources logistics company who has been delivering mining services, materials handling, specialised equipment and consulting services to resource companies across Australia and Indonesia every day since 1915.

With a range of clients across the Underground Coal Industry, Jaxam provide a range of services including maintenance, repair and overhauling of plant and equipment, supply of spare parts and supply of onsite labour.

The purpose of this role is to support the underground workshop tradespeople at our Cardiff workshop in delivering our equipment to our clients as promised.

This is a fulltime role, where the role will be rostered either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.

Trade Assistant tasks will include:

- Assisting and working alongside our team of Tradespeople;
- Ensuring our workshop is kept clean and tidy;
- Completing wash downs and surface preparation on underground machines;
- Assisting with tooling being returned at the end of the shift;
- Assisting with tooling inspections and maintaining tooling in good condition;
- Assisting with parts picking and deliveries.

**What you need**:

- Forklift ticket (required) and experience with overhead crane preferred but not essential (training and verification of competence will be provided at site);
- Great work ethic, always looking for the next task;
- Mechanical aptitude;
- Positive, proactive approach to safety;
- Commitment to working as part of a team;
- Strong work ethic and a commitment to customer service;
- Ability to engender harmonious working relations amongst office and workshop personnel.

Applicants will also be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
