UGL's Manufacturing & Maintenance business based at our operation in Broadmeadow, Newcastle NSW and we are looking for Trades Assistants to join the team.

We have a few roles available within our Components and New Build teams, on either casual, fixed term or permanent contracts depending on experience.

These roles are paid under UGLs Newcastle Operations Enterprise Agreement working on a 9 day fortnight Monday - Thursday from 5.30am - 2.30pm, every second Friday off and the Friday you do work is 5.30am - 1.30pm.

**About the role**

Reporting to the Service Delivery Manager this role will see you working in our rail component overhaul, engine overhaul or locomotive new build teams assisting various trades, Mechanical & Electrical and general work shop duties as required.

**About You**
- Fork Lift Licence essential
- Overhead / Gantry Crane Experience - Competent, favourable
- Previous experience working as a TA or Labourer with in a heavy industry environment
- Dogging and Rigging ( Desirable )
- Proactive and Enthusiastic
- Willingness to Learn
- Ability to learn and understand Parts and Documentation
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Spray painting experience ( Desirable )
- Wash bay operation experience ( Desirable )

**Tasks**
- Disassemble components
- Assembly of components - overhaul.
- Complete quality documentation
- Assisting trades with variety of tasks
- Cleaning parts
- Spray painting traction motors, compressors and components
- Wash bay operation
