**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bushland Works Leader to join our Bushland team within the Recreation Project & Parks department.

As a Bushland Works Leader, you will understand and communicate site knowledge to the Bushland team, contractors, and friends groups.

On ground staff supervision and mentoring, including apprentices, is also a key component of this role

This is a fantastic opportunity suited to someone looking to advance their career in Conservation Land Management.

This is a full-time permanent opportunity 76 hours per fortnight.

**About the team**

Our Environment & Infrastructure directorate is responsible for building and maintaining the picturesque and environmentally diverse Yarra Ranges municipality. Environment & Infrastructure consists of several multi-disciplinary departments including Sustainable Environment & Facilities, Infrastructure Services, Recreation & Parks, and Assets & Capital Programming.

**What you’ll bring to our team**
- Proven capability to carry out manaual bushland management works.
- Experience in delivering bushland management works including the daily supervision of on-ground staff, environmental volunteer groups and contractors.
- The ability to communicate with groups including contractors, Council staff and community groups.
- A proactive, can-do attitude and ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Qualifications in Natural Resource Management or related discipline (or extensive relevant experience).
- Experience in First Aid Certificate or equivalent, Australian Chemical Users permit, Arboriculture assement training, Traffic Management, Medium Rigid licence, Basic Wildlife Awareness,is highly regarded but not essential.

Salary from $66,258 per annum (Band 4), plus superannuation.
