Investment Strategist (Research Focus)

Dimensional’s Investment Solutions Group (ISG) acts as a source of specialized investment knowledge that delivers thought leadership, education and analysis to our clients through face-to-face interactions and compelling, informative content.

We are seeking an Investment Strategist with a research skillset for our Sydney office to carry out the following responsibilities:

- Prepare and deliver presentations that convey complex investment concepts in more accessible terms for consultants, clients, and prospects.
- Conduct empirical research related to portfolio structure and implementation, run historical simulations, perform attribution and characteristics analysis, conduct econometric tests to evaluate the impact of different portfolio construction and implementation approaches on expected performance, costs and diversification of our investment strategies.
- Represent Dimensional at client conferences, meetings and events; speak to the firm’s investment philosophy, outlook and performance, and promote the Dimensional investment management story to internal and external audiences.
- Function as a conduit between Global ISG, Research and local Portfolio Management, Trading, and Client Service teams on the release of new research and thought leadership.
- Support special projects and initiatives for ISG, Research and other departments on an ad hoc basis.
- Develop feedback loop through relationships with external-facing account managers to make recommendations and improvements to Dimensional’s offerings.

**Qualifications**:

- A minimum Masters degree in a discipline such as finance, economics, mathematics, statistics, or a related field
- At least 5 years of experience in a related role and a strong understanding of the asset management industry and capital markets.
- Experience doing empirical research with large datasets.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to articulate investment concepts to a variety of audience types.
- Ability to resolve problems effectively and exercise independent judgement.
- Ability to operate and prioritize in a fast-moving & demanding environment and deal with complex situations.
