An integral part of the New Hope Group, Queensland Bulk Handling is Brisbane's leading bulk handling facility. For more than four decades, it has been one of Australia's most reliable, efficient and cost-effective bulk handling export terminals.

Queensland Bulk Handling's state-of-the-art loading process and bulk handling equipment includes conveyor systems with overhead discharge gantry or stacker, underground and above ground reclaimers and bulldozers for stockpile management to deliver rapid turnaround times.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide effective leadership and management to continue to deliver timely, safe and cost-effective services for coal receival, stockpiling, maintenance and ship loading logistics.

Key objectives of this role:

- Providing the requisite co-ordination and support to the Port Operations Manager and QBH employees in the development and coordination of the QBH Health Safety and Environment Management System.
- Develop, communicate and implement QBH Port Security Plans and ensure that regular reviews are undertaken in accordance with Federal, State and Port of Brisbane Regulations.
- Develop requisite training systems and plans required for all QBH employees with regard to skills, safety and policy (including corporate policy).
- Manage the Safety Management System to meet statutory and operational safety requirements.
- Engage, mentor and lead a multidisciplinary team of operational leaders with regards to understanding and achieving required objectives in health, safety and security.
- Support management in the development and implementation of long term strategic planning.
- Develop and implement the Company's HSE Audit program.
- Prepare and manage annual HSSET plans, budgets and reforecasts.

What you’ll need to bring to the role:

- 5 years relevant experience with relevant qualifications.
- Current and relevant legislative knowledge.
- Experience in facilitation of workshops.
- Experience in Port Operations and Security desirable.
