**Oriental Merchant** **is a leading importer and distributor of authentic Asian groceries with brands that are familiar throughout Asia Pacific. Our brand has a strong national and global presence.

We are looking for our next Quality Assurance Specialist to support our Procurement team in our head office based in Mulgrave. The successful applicant will be required to:

- Manage the product database of ANZ (which includes product specifications, artworks, images and price list)
- ln charge of the NPD process of the cateeorv (mainlv the Chinese products and others if assigned) for all the markets of the group, by conducting and coordinating the communication with the suppliers including the compliance check for the products to be developed from start to finish.
- Coordinate the NPD process of the non-Chinese products and organize the information needed for the database and new product set-up in SAP of each operation
- Notify the sales terms concerned of all the new products developed for various markets.
- Conduct product and packaging verification for the stock arriving for the 1st time of the category.
- Conduct random inspection on imponed products under the category to ensure compliance and quality control.
- Conduct quality related investigation in relation to customer complaints for the category.
- Work with Customer Service team in managing effective complaints resolutions.
- Manage HACCP and other certifications and compliance of the category.
- Conduct factory auditing by instructions.
- Provide technical support to both sales and purchase when needed, including generatingproduct specification sheets for the sales when required.
- Manage the Australian Packaging Convent Program;
- Other tasks assigned by the report line.

**What you will need to be successful**:

- Full Australian working rights
- Tertiary education with a relevant degree for international supply chain, food technology and/or commerce preferred but not essential
- A minimum of 2 years experience in a relevant Quality Control role
- Fluency in spoken and written skills in both Chinese and English
- A sound understanding of the Food Standards Act and Regulations
- Analytical thinking and problem-solving focused
- Strong numerical and administrative skills, including proficiency in Excel
- Effective management of internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and with a sense of urgency
