Build your career and Australia’s future

Not many people can say they are working on building Australia’s future. With us you’ll be doing just that, leaving a legacy for all Australians. Plus, there’s equal employment, great training, and true flexible working arrangements.

A bit about your role

This role requires an experienced emergency management practitioner to be responsible for developing and delivering emergency management capability across nbn’s systems, people and processes. The successful Emergency Capability Lead will coordinate and deliver the training, exercise and lessons management program across nbn’s Emergency Management processes.

The role is also required to play an active part in the preparation, response and recovery phases of any emergency event to ensure processes are in place, audited and tested in line with nbn requirements. The role requires experience in coordination, debriefing, evaluating emergency events, and identifying and implementing lessons. You have demonstrated ability to work with large teams to develop their functional competencies through process improvement.

A bit about you

The position requires a demonstrated level of experience working in Emergency Management roles.

You will also have incident management experience as well as experience in debriefing and evaluating emergency events and identifying and implementing lessons.

Your emergency management and response experience, incident management experience, and operational response to disasters will aid nbn’s real-time response in high-pressure environments.

You will be capable of working in ambiguity and have the knowledge and experience to design, manage and evaluate EM exercises. Your seamless delivery of current information to large teams will require a highly developed stakeholder management skillset to create different teams’ functional competencies and nbn’s process improvements.

You are a problem solver who can challenge the status quo and think strategically with very little response time. Your communication style enables business stakeholders to understand the benefits and risks of emergency management activities in a way that encourages informed decision-making to build resilience and achieve a more aware, informed and prepared nbn team.
