**What you'll be doing**
ISLHD recognises that its data is one of its most valuable assets. The need for high quality data is increasingly important, as clinicians and managers use this data to make critical decisions which impact the quality of care.
The Performance Unit provides a data custodian function to the district across Sub Acute, Emergency, Surgical, Waitlist and Non-admitted patient services.
The Performance Officer is responsible for promoting data quality across the district, and implementing a range of continuous improvement processes. They will operate within a collaborative multi-disciplinary team environment, and provide expert advice and analytical support focused toward improving data management processes, and ultimately contribute to patient outcomes and alignment with patient classification and Activity Based Funding (ABF) processes.
The Performance Officer sits within the Planning, Information and Performance Directorate, which is the strategic lever in strengthening and accelerating the analytics maturity in ISLHD.

**Selection Criteria**:
- Demonstrated experience in clinical data collection, data entry, analysis and information management, preferably within a healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate data concepts (data lifecycle, data errors etc) and analysis to audiences with various levels of data literacy.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to implement change management in complex settings and influence staff of all levels.
- Demonstrated strong written and verbal communication, negotiation, presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and consult effectively with staff of all levels.
- Ability to problem solve, prioritise workload and meet deadlines, both autonomously and in a team environment, with mínimal supervision to a high professional standard and with a clearly articulated strategic direction.
- Experience with querying databases using office computer systems, particularly Excel and Access from the Microsoft Office Suite, in order to capture data and collate into a single meaningful report.
- Demonstrated personal ability to work in a fast paced environment and adapt to changing priorities with pace and energy.
- Current unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence and a willingness to travel between sites as required.
