**Position Purpose**
To assist the venue manager in day to day operations and to have an integral role in the service delivery of events. To assist in the relationship with Lume Management and to facilitate a cohesive team environment.
**Key Accountabilities**:
**Delivering and maintaining exceptional levels of customer satisfaction**
- Assist Venue Manager
- Liaise with Lume Exhibition staff according to set parameters.
- Run events within the Lume Exhibition and Café
- Assist in general administrative and compliance duties.
- Leadership and team development.
- Manage assigned Café in alignment with the venue’s trading dynamics.
- Ensure all team members deliver exceptional levels of service in line with our core principles.
**Restaurant operations**
- Utilise EBMS (venue management system) to understand event specifics such as attendance levels and timings of busy periods.
- Prepare stock and staff to maintain outlet operations to the department standards.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders of various departments of the MCEC, to drive department and organisation-wide operational excellence.
- Ensure all team members are fully briefed and understand management expectations.
- Ensure all team members deliver exceptional levels of service.
- Lead by example and instil a sense of ownership within the Cafe Team
- Provide strong leadership and mentoring of the service staff.
- Ensure competency and training standards are adhered to and practiced.
- Develop and provide training and continue the job programs for staff to enable an increase in skills and productivity.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders of various departments of the MCEC, to drive department and organisation-wide operational excellence.
- Monitor rosters for event-specific staff and agency staff ensuring the effective and efficient deployment of staff resources and ensuring that all staff records, including time sheets, are maintained.
- Monitor and maintain Food & Beverage equipment and resources.
- Liaise with clients and other departments within the MCEC to obtain all relevant information pertaining to events and their requirements after handover by the Event Planners
- Ensure all staff understands and practice Responsible Service of Alcohol procedures and guidelines.
**Knowledge & Experience**
- Experience in leading teams of 7 or more people
- Hospitality experience across Corporate Catering and Retail
- Sound knowledge of emotional intelligence
- Will require to oversee and deliver events of up to 1000pax
- Support the Café Manager and Cafe team with training and development of casual employees
- Computer literate
- Strong organisational skills and time management
- Ability to communicate and lead effectively at all levels, including the ability to gain co-operation and assistance from other employees
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and achieve objectives within tight time frames and within budgetary limits
- Ability to discuss and resolve problems of a technical and operational nature
- Capable of working effectively and objectively under pressure
- Operational supervisory experience in a high volume multi-faceted venue
- Impeccable levels of attention to detail in both front-of-house and kitchen areas
**Qualifications**
Essential
- Managing a team 2 years+
- Outstanding Barista skills
- Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA)
- Food Handling Certificate
- OH & S Certificate
- Money Handling experience
Desirable
- Tertiary level education in hospitality management
- Leadership Training
