**Principal Analyst, Data Evaluation and Reporting - Grade 11/12 at the Information and Privacy Commission NSW (IPC)**

**About the role**
The role provides leadership in data, evaluation and reporting to support the implementation and operation of the Mandatory Notifiable Data Breach Scheme (MNDB Scheme).

This new role will also lead a coordinated approach to the analysis and provision of high-level technical advice on data breaches notified, reporting on themes and trends informed by data, and support a strategic program of work that will lead and contribute to improved compliance and privacy data practices across regulated entities.

**Key accountabilities**:

- Leads the delivery of high-level technical and analytical support and advice for the MNDB Scheme and provide high-level specialist advice in response to requests for advice and for the preparation of reports and other briefings as required.
- Manage the development, implementation and delivery of MNDB reporting, and monitor reporting outcomes to support compliance and highlight areas of focus.
- Provides timely, expert and strategic advice relating to the evaluation of notifiable data breaches, the threat environment, response strategies proposed and the impact and effect of systems and technology in data breaches notified.
- Lead the review of reported breaches, to develop solutions responsive to risk identified and provide expert and strategic advice relation to the evaluation of notifiable data breaches, treat environment, propose response strategies and the impact and effect of systems and technology.
- Contribute to the development, maintenance, and communication about the MNDB Scheme to uplift awareness and compliance.
- Lead and co-ordinate targeted investigative and regulatory actions in response to the MNDB Scheme and provides pro-active, evidence-based advice on issues and developments in data breaches that educates agencies and citizens.
- Manage, coach and mentor IPC staff to build internal expertise, capability and collaboration to develop outcomes and provide services and advice to support optimal organisational performance and meet all governance and legislative requirements.

**About you**

***The IPC are seeking a pro-active individual with experience in preparing and reviewing information, investigating and undertaking analysis with an ability to identify and analyse options and make recommendations.

You possess excellent organisational skills and able to manage and coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

High level of proficiency in Office 365 and an understanding and interest in systems, and technologies and how they impact and relate to information management.

**To be successful in this role you will have**:

- Ability to lead regulatory and investigative actions and initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of technology platforms, systems, cyber security threats and measures.
- Demonstrated ability to take a system view of information and evaluate and analyse systems and processes.
