About the Role- Permanent opportunity within the maintenance team- Deliver essential technical services to the Torrens Island and Barker Inlet sites- Exciting time to join Australia’s leading energy company during a time of growth

In your new role of Instrumentation and Controls Technical Officer, you will support the overall Maintenance Operations of AGL Torrens Island and Barker Inlet Power Stations.

What you’ll be doing:
In collaboration with the operations, maintenance work groups and the electrical and instrumentation group, you will maintain and repair safety systems across site while taking into consideration plant availability and reliability.

You will provide front line technical advice and support in fault finding, repair, calibration, installation, and performance monitoring on the full range of complex Instrumentation & Control Systems equipment, including:
- Availability and Reliability of Safety Control Systems (Burner Management and Turbine Protection Systems), Turbine Supervisory Equipment (TSE), Supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), PLC's and General Instrumentation- Availability and Reliability of major Safety Control Systems and other major Control Systems- Lead Technical and regulatory compliance testing for major control systems and field instrumentation- DCS-Distributed control system- Hazardous areas compliance- SCADA control- Gas system purging

About You

You will be experienced in providing maintenance and repairs on general electrical and instrumentation equipment and providing technical support for major and minor projects including costing, material estimates, scheduling, and execution, preparation of routine engineering drawings and specifications.

You will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate yourself and others to achieve organisational goals in line with a clear overall vision through planning, managing performance, and role modelling desired behaviours.

With a natural ability to build and maintain relationships, you will engage at all levels and confidently motivate and influence to deliver successful outcomes. Your high quality written and verbal communication skills, will see you listen, interpret and convey information in a clear and accurate manner, providing timely delivery of information tailoring your approach to suit the audience.

What you’ll bring to the table:
- An Associate Diploma in Electronic/Electrical Engineering (or related qualification) and experience working in Hazardous areas- Ability to work within key AS/NZ/ISO documents. International and Australian Standards relating to Functional Safety (AS61511), Gas Fired Appliances (AS3814, AS1375, NFPA 85), Gas Installations (AS5601)- Type B Gas compliance experience highly regarded but not essential- Safety integrity level experience highly regarded but not essential
