**Position description**
The Victoria/Tasmania State Manager will be a highly motivated leader with
outstanding program management and organisational change experience
with strategic vision. You will contribute to the implementation of aged care
reforms.
You will support the Ageing and Aged Care Group and broader department by
delivering regional stewardship - driving change in the aged care system to
improve outcomes. Regional stewardship is a critical capability in our staff as
is nurturing capability and improvement in the systems we steward.
In addition, you will contribute to the implementation of aged care reforms
arising from the recommendations of the Royal Commission ensuring the
highest quality care is provided to older Australians.
The State Manager will be responsible for:
- Directly managing a branch, across multiple locations (i.e. Melbourne,
Hobart and Launceston - requiring travel as necessary). Note further
changes to state offices may be required
- Providing a wider site leadership role for all department staff in the
Melbourne office, including supporting staff through leading
improvements to communication flow and other initiatives to improve
connectedness and sharing of intelligence, information and ideas
- Managing a range of activities at either a local or national level on behalf
of the Division
- Actively collaborating with and improving the linkages between the Health
State Network and policy and program areas in the delivery of Health
programs at the state level
- Representing the department in high-level discussions and negotiations
with key stakeholders, including building and managing ongoing
relationships with state government, the health industry stakeholders,
and local service providers
- Contributing to a range of complex policy, program and regulatory
management issues, including implementation of major government
reforms
- As required leading an emergency response locally to assist the
management of emergencies impacting aged care including sevre
weather events such as bushfires, flooding and public health risks such as
COVID-19 outbreaks.

deliver to the best of their ability.
