**The Role**
- Develop and implement WHS policy and programs based on identified risk, industry best practice, regulator recommendations and assurance program outcomes.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders on complex and sensitive work health and safety issues.
- Use experience to provide specialist advice to work health and safety advisers, Commanders and Managers and other stakeholders.
- Liaise and act as a point of contact as necessary with other authorities and interest groups on work health and safety specialist matters.
- Evaluate activities and processes for compliance with work health and safety legislation, policies and procedures relevant to Navy.
- Resolve problems using specialist expertise, taking the initiative to identify alternative courses of action and implications for work health and safety activities.
