***About the Position**

***We are looking to welcome a**Youth Worker** to proactively engage, build rapport and connection, and provide time-limited complex youth work intervention to children, young people and caregivers. Our Brisbane North and Sunshine Coast Intensive Support Services (ISS) team supports families across a broad region, from Alderley in Brisbane through to Gympie. This role involves regular travel throughout the service area.**
***ISS practitioners work intensively with families and children in their homes and communities, providing flexible support tailored to their unique circumstances. To best meet the needs of the families we support, work may take place outside standard business hours, including evenings and weekends. We use a relational, therapeutic approach focused on building strong, safe, and secure alliances with families. This foundation helps prepare families to engage meaningfully in therapy and work toward positive, lasting change.**

- **SCHCADS Award Level 3. $46.69 - $50.06 per hour inclusive of casual loading + super.**:

- **Includes travel to various locations across Brisbane North and Gympie as required.**

***_Key Responsibilities_**

***:

- **Provide time-limited intervention to high-risk children and young people in families with complex trauma.**:

- **Work collaboratively with ISS team and other professionals and agencies to ensure the child/young person’s goals are achieved.**:

- **Practically support and encourage school participation and relationship with educational environment.**:

- **Follow the guidance and direction from practitioners and team leaders to ensure practical support to children and young people is achieved.**

***About You**

***:

- **Certificate IV in a relevant discipline (youth work, community services) or studying toward a relevant tertiary qualification.**:

- **At least two (2) years’ experience providing complex youth work to young people in a child protection context or who have experienced trauma and disruptions in attachment.**:

- **Understanding of current child protection legislation and policy reforms.**

- **Current driver’s licence.**:

- **Legally able work in Australia (proof of eligibility will be requested).**:

- **Willingness to travel to various locations as required.**
